Static elimination Pulsed DC
IONstream FUSION
100Hz DC Static elimination equipment
IONstream Fusion is a Pulsed DC based static elimination / neutralising systems used for the neutralisation of static charges present on a substrates surface. High voltage is used to generate alternate positive and negative ions at a frequency rate of up to 100Hz.
If the target material surface is positively charged it will attract and accept the negative ions generated by the system and reject the positive ions (the opposite applies if the surface charge is negative.
IONstream Fusion utilises our latest microprocessor control system and high voltage generating technology which are encapsulated within the static neutralising bar profile. Supply voltage is 24V DC therefore the system has no external high voltage generator or cables.
An IONstream Fusion static neutralising bar can be used on its own or as part of a larger system.

IONcontrol FUSION
True DC Static elimination equipment Patented
IONcontrol Fusion is a technological advancement in the field of static elimination / static neutralisation technology.
IONcontrol Fusion employs True DC technology. The neutralising bar profile incorporates a set of + and - ion emitter pins and a third row of sensor pins.
When IONcontrol Fusion is first activated the system starts in Pulsed DC mode. The target material is scanned to establish if there is a dominant polarity charge located on the material surface.
If no dominant charge is found the system will continue to operate in Pulsed DC mode. If a dominant charge is found the system will switch into True DC mode.
In True DC mode the system delivers a constant output of single polarity ions, the only polarity of ions which the target material requires for neutralisation of surface charge.100% neutralisation can be achieved regardless of charge level or material speed when in True DC mode.
True DC outperforms AC or Pulsed DC method static neutralising equipment due to the following reasons.
AC static neutralisers have a zero volt pass point between positive and negative outputs. When at the zero pass point no ion output is taking place therefore no material neutralisation is taking place. When ion output is the same polarity as the target material no neutralisation is taking place.
DC and Pulsed DC have a pulse pause between positive and negative output. When the pulse is paused no neutralisation is taking place. When ion output is the same polarity as the target material no neutralisation is taking place.
With True DC we have no zero pass point or pulse pause and we also do not produce the same polarity ions as the polarity of charge on the surface of the target material. We have a constant output of positive or negative ions, the only ions the target material requires.
When AC and DC / Pulsed DC system are used on conversion machinery operating at high speed an effect commonly known as the Zebra Effect can be seen.
Zebra Effect describes the stripe of non neutralised material which is caused when the material passes during a period where the static neutralising bar is in a zero volt pass, pulse pause or same polarity situation.
The faster the machine the worse the zebra effect becomes.
IONcontrol Fusion guarantees no Zebra Effect.

We offer 3 different control and monitoring solutions which can be used with IONstream Fusion and IONcontrol Fusion.

IONpilot is a palm computer device which is plugged into the individual neutralising bar to monitor performance, output and cleanliness of the bar. IONpilot can be used to adjust pulse, voltage output and set acceptable neutralising bar pollution limits and alarms. A Bluetooth option will be available soon to enable remote monitoring of individual IONstream Fusion bars without the need to plug IONpilot into the chosen bar.
IONmaster is our 7” touch screen operator interface. The system shows a side view of the machine with individual neutraliser locations along with a button which displays the status colour. If a green button is displayed all parameters are within specified limits and the bar is working efficiently. An orange button is displayed when an alarm situation is close and rectifying action should be taken at the earliest opportunity. If no action is taken the button turns to red to show that and alarm status has been reached. To cancel the alarm and return the display back to green rectifying measures must be taken.
By selecting an individual bar within the screen the user is taken through to the status display area where key parameters are displayed. The system displays: Ion Efficiency, Ionising current, Emitter pin sharpness and Bar maintenance levels and system fault
Ionising current is an indication of the system output polarity and level of output.
Ion Efficiency is a display of each neutralising bar output efficiency. As the neutralising bars become polluted from the atmosphere the Ion Efficiency displayed will reduce until it reaches a pre-selected level where the bar maintenance alarm will be activated.
Emitter Pin status is a display of the pin sharpness degradation level. Pin sharpness is a contributing factor to the ionising efficiency of the bar. When any static neutralising bars emitter pins become dull the neutralising efficiency is reduced. Our special profile Tungsten emitter pins are designed to maintain maximum sharpness for longer.
System Failure alarm is displayed when there is a fault with the high voltage system
Conductive Pollution alarm is displayed when there is a short circuit between positive and negative pins when a bar is running in Pulsed DC mode.
The system also includes a password protected access area where operating parameters can be adjusted.
Bar maintenance alarms can be set for each individual neutraliser.
Pulse frequency can be adjusted from 0 – 100Hz.
Voltage output positive and negative can be adjusted from 0 – 6 KV or 0 – 12KV depending on which type of bar is used.
A further screen is also available which displays graphical neutralising trends.
Up to 127 IONstream Fusion or IONcontrol Fusion static neutralising bars can be located on a IONmaster system.
The system can be expanded with additional neutralising bars at any time. When a new neutralising bar is added the system allocates it an address and then incorporates it into the system.
IONgate is our industrial network gateway system which allows machine builders or end users to locate IONstream Fusion or IONcontrol Fusion static neutralising system within their own control and display system.
This allows the static neutralising system to become an integrated component along with all other control and monitoring system found today on modern process machinery.
